Can Customers Send Files to Your AI Chatbot?
Yes. Visitors can attach images and PDF documents up to 10 MB directly in the chat, and the assistant actually reads them. A photo of a receipt, a screenshot of an error, a filled-in form: the bot takes them into account when it answers.
What Kinds of Files Work?
Images and PDF documents, up to 10 MB each. Every upload is validated before it is accepted, so the feature stays safe for your site and your visitors. Filenames and the text inside PDF documents also pass through the same PII redaction as chat messages, so attachments never become a side door for personal data.
Where Is This Available?
Everywhere your bot lives. In the website widget, visitors attach files with one click. Through the REST API, your own application can upload a file first and reference it in the next message, with up to four attachments per message, which makes document-aware chat available inside your own product too.
What Does This Change in Practice?
Support questions often start with "it looks like this". Instead of asking customers to describe an error message or type out the contents of an invoice, they can just show it. The conversation gets shorter, the answer gets more precise, and fewer conversations need a human to step in.
